Marcin “Jankos” Jankows is one of the best esports players ever to emerge from Poland. This world-renowned jungler has been a sought-after commodity for many years and is generally considered one of the finest LoL veterans still playing today.
His first major appointment was with Team Minstral, before making the switch to GF-Gaming and H2k-Gaming. In more recent years, he’s been playing with high-profile rosters like G2 Esports. However, his five-year tenure with that team drew to a close at the end of 2022, with Jankos jumping ship to join Team Heretics. While he might be one of the more successful LoL players around, Jankos does maintain a pretty active private life outside of the game itself.
He’s a Big Fan of the Fantasy Genre
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering he slays virtual minions for a living. Jankos is a massive fan of the fantasy genre itself. He’s cited all three of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies as being among his favorites. Considering that, you’d think he singles out fictional characters like Gandalf or Aragorn as his role models. Not so. In fact, it’s American martial artist Chuck Norris that Jankos idolizes.

Becoming an Esports Star Wasn’t Always on the Cards
Although Jankos has been playing League of Legends professionally since the inaugural season, he cut his gamer teeth with titles like DOTA and Warcraft 3. However, despite his love for video games and the MOBA genre, he didn’t always see a future for himself in competitive gaming. Instead, Jankos had his eye on a career in teaching.
He Maintains an Active Social Media Presence
While most LoL players are fairly active on social media, Jankos raises the bar. He’s active on just about every major platform, including Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch. His Twitter profile has more than 460 million followers, while his Instagram has a quarter of a million subscribers. While his social media enterprises are largely focused on League of Legends, he makes time to engage with his fans. On Twitch, he runs a regular ‘Just Chatting’ session to connect with followers. Jankos has also used his social media presence to comment on the questionable online antics of G2. The organization has been known to post somewhat controversial memes in the past, largely at the expense of its roster.

He’s Pining for Romance
There aren’t many great love stories within the world of professional esports. For many years, Jankos was a reluctant member of the singles club. However, his luck changed in 2022 when he started chatting to Plumy online. This cosplayer is incredibly popular in South Korea, but he’s become more exposed to international audiences in recent years thanks to her Twitch channel. Sadly, the relationship wasn’t to last. By the end of 2022, Jankos was single once again. Nonetheless, he’s eager to get back on the horse and start dating again. Eager to see how Jankos does in his new appointment?
